About the Artist

Laura has been immersed in art from an early age, trying her hand over the years at drawing, painting, paper sculpture, and stained glass. She has years of experience creating pysanky, an ancient Ukrainian method of decorating eggshells using a wax-resist technique, and her current focus is mosaic artwork. Her love of technical detail and precision is apparent in all the art she creates.

She is a self-taught artist, forgoing art in college to earn a Master's degree in archaeology from Purdue University. She remained involved in art though, and in the beginning of 2009 she gave up her day job as an archaeologist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to start her tattoo career. In 2012 she and fellow artists Dina Verplank and Gerrit Verplank went on to establish the Firefly Tattoo Collective.

Laura's art is infused with complicated designs and ornate patterns. She loves fine detail and clean lines, and strives to bring a level of technical precision to her work.

In addition to tattooing, Laura is an author, and publishes fantasy novels under a pen name. She also enjoys playing the hammered dulcimer, reading, and traveling.

Please note that Laura's availability fluctuates and she may not always be available to take on new projects.
